Welcome to my Family Website
Generations Woven Through Time

Preserving and Cherishing our roots, one story at a time
My family surnames include Hess, Ward, Thacker, and Varney. I've spent many years researching our history and talking with relatives to preserve the stories that shaped us. I love discovering the connections that link our family together and learning about the places we come from. It amazes me how generations of people endured, overcame, and came together so that we are here today.
🌿 Site Update
Many of you have followed my genealogy work from the beginning, when it started as a simple effort to gather and share information for our family. I've spent years verifying records, collecting documents, organizing lineages, and building a clearer picture of our history.
I've also devoted a great deal of time to developing my book series, and for a long while I thought I needed to choose between continuing that work or focusing on the website. As my research deepened, though, it became clear that these projects were never meant to stand apart. The website has become the best place to organize, update, and share the histories I'm writing, and the book work naturally fits into that structure.
By combining them, I can continue writing the detailed histories I care about while building a flexible, continually updated resource that supports my research, documentation, and the services I'm now able to offer. Bringing these pieces together allows both projects to grow without forcing a choice between them. It's the strongest path forward, and it reflects the time, skill, and dedication this work has always required.
I'm excited to share that the website has been updated and will continue expanding over time. This combined approach lets me produce accurate, well‑documented genealogy while offering resources, services, and historical content for anyone who wants to learn more or contribute.
I appreciate everyone who has supported this journey, and I'm looking forward to sharing the next steps as this project continues to grow. You're welcome to explore the site, follow updates, and share verified family information or upcoming events. Together, we can continue building a resource that preserves our history for future generations.
There's a public Facebook page for family and friends who want to stay in touch:

I'd love to keep our family information up to date. Please share news about births, weddings, and deaths — and include your spouse's family too. Photos are always welcome!
I know it can feel like I'm being nosy, but it's really about preserving our history for future generations. I wish I had more details about our ancestors; learning about their lives helps me feel connected to them. So I'm not being nosy — I just want your future relatives to know you as much as possible.
